RE: Preseason Information

I will be the basketball assignment officer for the CFOA for the 2007-08 season.  I am requesting all relevant information regarding your basketball program.  We hope that we can build upon last years exciting season.

COACHES INFORMATION:  Complete the enclosed form and list your coaches' names and telephone numbers.  It is very important to have a cell number or a number we can contact a basketball representative after school hours.

SCHEDULES:  Submit an accurate schedule for all your games - boys, girls, varsity, junior varsity, and freshmen.  Please send these schedules without delay.  This will enable us to enter them into our database and begin scheduling.  If you are using software such as League Minder or Schedule Star you are capable of exporting your schedule directly into the Arbiter.net which saves a considerable amount of data entry.

CONTACT INFORMATION:  The office contact number is 407-657-4037.  The best time to contact the office is between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm.  If I am not in, ask for Henry Hamm.  Henry will be able to handle most issues.

OFFICIALS SCHEDULE:  Completed schedules are usually done 3 to 4 weeks in advance.  It is imperative that you review the assignment for accuracy i.e. dates, times, and playing sites.  Due to a high volume of games, there is a likelihood of a few inaccuracies.

SCHEDULING CHANGES:  Our contract covers scheduling changes however, last minute changes are extremely difficult to arrange.  Please keep these changes to a minimum.

PEAK SCHEDULING:  Varsity games are not a problem.  JV and Freshmen games are difficult to schedule because of the early starting times.  Please attempt not to schedule early games on Tuesdays and Fridays.   Most CFOA officials have other employment and have difficulty getting to a game site before 6:00 pm.

SCRATCH LIST:  Personality conflicts rather than rules knowledge often lead to more scratches.  You may scratch up to ten (10) officials form last year's official roster.  NOTE:  SCRATCHES ARE FOR VARSITY GAMES ONLY.

PREFERRED OFFICIALS:  As part of the CFOA evaluation system, please list fourteen (14) officials that you consider capable of working your top notch varsity games.  NOTE:  PREFERRED OFFICIALS ARE NOT NECESSARILY SCHEDULED FOR YOUR HOME GAMES.

SUMMARY:  Please take time to complete the attachments and return them soon.  This will help everyone have a fun and successful season.

Sincerely,

Kim Fessler/Henry Hamm
